Madagascar Highlights

Visit some of Madagascar's top wildlife destinations in comfort.

Day 1
Depart from London Heathrow on an afternoon BMi flight to Paris CDG to connect with your overnight Air Madagascar flight to Antananarivo.

Day 2
Arrive in Antananarivo, the lively Malagasy capital. Transfer to Perinet Reserve. 2 nights at the Vakona Forest Lodge, which has 14 comfortable bungalows, bar and lounge facilities and excellent food. Vakona Forest Lodge.

Day 3
Day in Perinet. Birders can also be taken to Ampasipotsy Marsh nearby. Vakona Forest Lodge.

Day 4
Excursion to Mantadia National Park. Afternoon transfer back to Antananarivo. Overnight in the comfortable Hotel de France.





Day 5
Fly to Fort Dauphin on the far south-east coast. Transfer inland to Berenty Private Reserve. Stops en route for local flora, an Antanosy graveyard and Antandroy villages in the spiny desert. Gite de Berenty Lodge.

Day 6
Day to enjoy Berenty Reserve. Gite de Berenty Lodge.





Day 7
Transfer back to Fort Dauphin. Time permitting, visit the beautiful Libanona Beach. Overnight in the Hotel Croix du Sud.

Day 8
Fly back to Antananarivo, where streets of narrow multistoreyed houses wind their way across 12 hills. Bargain for handicrafts, fine embroidery and fresh produce at one of the markets. Visit Ambohimanga, cradle of the Merina kingdom which has great spiritual signicance to the Malagasy. Hotel de France.

Days 9 – 12
Fly to the island of Nosy Be for 4 nights. Fertile Nosy Be is known as the perfumed isle from the ever-present scent of vanilla and ylang ylang. Discover charming fishing villages, enjoy superb diving and take a pirogue to Lokobe Reserve. Take a boat to Nosy Tanikely and see the endangered black lemurs of Nosy Komba, where vanilla and handicrafts may be bought direct from the producers. Stay 4 nights in an ocean view room at the Hotel Vanila, breakfast and dinner included.

Day 13
Fly back to Antananarivo before checking in for your return flight to Paris.

Day 14
Arrive in Paris and connect with your British Midland flight to London.


Price: from £2135 per person sharing for travel completed by 6 April, 2006 (excluding peak season) and from £2235 per person sharing from 6 April - 26 June and 12 September - 31 October.
